Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information SMTC (“SMTC”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use the SMTC platform (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account details: email address and password.
  • Business contact details: your name, job title, company name, country and phone number.
  • Order details: destination, shipping contact and other information you enter when you place an order.
  • Messages you send us, including conversations with the AI assistant in the Service.

Information from Google sign-in

If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We use them only to create and identify your account. We do not receive your Google password.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we record technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and the time of each visit, and we use cookies that keep you signed in.

2. How we use it

  • To create and secure your account and let you sign in.
  • To find cars for you, prepare quotes and invoices, and process your orders.
  • To prepare export, shipping and customs documents for cars you buy.
  • To contact you about your account and orders.
  • To improve the Service and prevent fraud or abuse.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Who we share it with

  • Service providers that host the Service and store its data on our behalf (currently Supabase and Vercel) and that deliver our emails.
  • Partners needed to complete your order, such as the seller, inland transport, deregistration, customs brokerage and shipping companies, receive only the details they need for that order.
  • Authorities, where export or import law requires it or where we must respond to a lawful request.

4. Where it is stored and for how long

Your data is stored on servers located in the Republic of Korea and may be processed in other countries by the providers listed above, who protect it under contractual safeguards.

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Records of completed orders are kept for as long as Korean tax, customs and commercial law require, and are then deleted or anonymised.

5. Your choices and rights

  • You can view and update your contact details at any time in your account page.
  • You can ask us to provide a copy of your personal information, correct it, or delete your account.
  • You can withdraw consent to optional processing at any time; this does not affect processing already carried out.

To make a request, reply to any email you have received from SMTC. We will respond within 30 days.

6. Security

Passwords are stored in hashed form, data is encrypted in transit, and access to personal information is limited to the people who need it to serve you. No system is completely secure, so please also keep your password confidential.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the date above. If a change is significant, we will also notify you by email.
